Lenora Pousland was born on November 23, 1999, in Burlington, Vermont. She has a strong appreciation for real Vermont maple syrup. Her focus is painting because it allows room for everything: light, depth, narrative, organic matter, movement, technology, sensory connection, beauty, memories, and nostalgia. She describes her work as capturing fleeting moments and desires, whether they are abstract and deeply human or highly polished depictions of shiny subjects. By blending these human moments with images that fill her mind—whether from the internet or driven by desire—she explores the conflict of identity between what’s organic and what’s contrived, particularly in relation to the internet.

Pousland’s work has been exhibited in Paris and Austin, featured in shows such as Trauma to Treasure at Music Hill Ranch, Gods and Monsters at RichesArt Gallery, Uncensored at Feats of Clay, as well as her own shows, It’s Out of My Control and NittyGritty (a group exhibition) at her studio/gallery. Her mesmerizing use of imagery, shape, and composition draws viewers into abstraction while offering glimpses of the hyper-real, forming a visual language that reflects her roots as a traditional oil painter.
